The 2021 David di Donatello Awards presented yesterday

The 66th edition of the Oscars of Italian cinema, hosted by Carlo Conti and directed by Maurizio Pagnussat, was held in the presence of the candidates of all categories in two locations, the historic 'Fabrizio Frizzi' television studios and the prestigious Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.

During the award ceremony, the twenty-five David di Donatello, one David alla Carriera, two David Specials and three plaques named David 2021 - Honorary Recognition were awarded. Here are all the prizes given:

David alla Carriera 2021 to Sandra Milo, extraordinary performer for directors such as Antonio Pietrangeli and Federico Fellini, Roberto Rossellini and Gabriele Salvatores, Gabriele Muccino and Pupi Avati, Jean Renoir and Claude Sautet.

Two Special Davids have been given during this edition: to Monica Bellucci, one of the best known and most appreciated actresses in the world, and to Diego Abatantuono, one of the most original and multifaceted voices in Italian entertainment.

David of the Spectator to 'Tolo Tolo', written, directed and interpreted by Luca Medici aka Checco Zalone

Silvia Angeletti, Ivanna Legkar and Stefano Marongiu, three healthcare professionals, won the David 2021 - Honorary Recognition plaques for their important contribution to the safe recovery of film and audiovisual production activities in Rome and Italy during the Covid-19 crisis.

David di Donatello for Best Actress in a Leading Role awarded to Sophia Loren for 'La Vita davanti a sé'.

David di Donatello for Best Actor in a Leading Role to Elio Germano for his performance as Antonio Ligabue in 'Hidden Away'.

David di Donatello for Best Director to Giorgio Diritti for the film "Hidden Away".

David di Donatello for Best Set Design to Ludovica Ferrario, Alessandra Mura and Paola Zamagni for 'Hidden Away' by Giorgio Diritti.

David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress to Matilda De Angelis for 'The Incredible Story of Rose Island'.

The David di Donatello award for Best Editing went to Esmeralda Calabria for 'Bad Tales' by the D'Innocenzo brothers.

Pietro Castellitto is the winner of the David di Donatello award for best new director for 'Predators'.

The David di Donatello for best documentary, Cecilia Mangini award, was given to 'My name is Francesco Totti' by Alex Infascelli.

Fabrizio Bentivoglio is the winner of the David di Donatello 2021 for best supporting actor for the film 'The Incredible Story of Rose Island'.

The David di Donatello award for best costume designer goes for the fifth time out of six nominations to Massimo Cantini Parrini for 'Miss Marx' by Susanna Nicchiarelli.

The David di Donatello award for best original screenplay went posthumously to Mattia Torre for the film 'Figli'.

The David di Donatello award for best photography went to Matteo Cocco for 'Hidden Away' by Giorgio Diritti.

The David di Donatello award for best hairstylist goes to Aldo Signoretti for 'Hidden Away'.

Best sound assigned to the team of 'Hidden Away', composed of Carlo Missidenti, Filippo Toso, Luca Leprotti, Marco Biscarini and Francesco Tumminello.

The David di Donatello 2021 award for best original song surprisingly went to 'Immigrato' by Luca Medici-Checco Zalone written with Antonio Iammarino.
