September 5th, 2023

At the Venice International Film Festival 2023, organized by the Venice Biennale, in the Extra Horizons section, the film Pet Shop Days was presented yesterday, produced by MeMo Films, Storyteller Productions and Twin Productions in association with Tenderstories, 3 Marys Entertainment and Ela Films.

Directed by Olmo Schnabel with Jack Irv, Dario Yazbek, Willem Dafoe, Emmanuelle Seigner, Camille Rowe, Peter Sarsgaard, the film tells the story of Alejandro and Jack, two characters who meet in an adventurous journey, an escape and a love that plants its roots in the dark side of Manhattan. There’s always a border to cross: whether it’s the internal one or the one that divides Mexico from the United States. Pet Shop Days is the story of a past that never stops chasing us, of feelings that represent danger and of the decisions we must make to face tomorrow with courage.

“We are very proud to present our new film ‘Pet Shop Days’. A simple but powerful story, able to excite and educate at the same time” said Moreno Zani, Founder of Tenderstories and Malcom Pagani, Chief Executive Officer, both Executive Producers of the film. “We are confident that audiences will be able to identify with the characters and draw inspiration from their journey towards freedom and self-acceptance. This film fully represents the mission of Tenderstories, able to involve the audience and stimulate them intellectually and emotionally. The goal is to produce films capable of thrilling and at the same time elevating viewers, encouraging deeper reflection”.
