PADRENOSTRO in competition at the 77. Venice International Film Festival

July 28th, 2020

“I am deeply happy and honored to participate in the 77th edition of the International Film Festival – comments director Claudio Noce. Coming back to Venice after several years has a special meaning for me, and doing so with a story inspired by my family makes me even more proud and grateful.
This will be a special edition for the whole cinema world, having the privilege to be there is really a great responsibility. My heartfelt thanks to director Alberto Barbera and the committee for selecting me”.

Rome, 1976. Valerio (Mattia Garaci) is ten years old and has a vivid imagination. His life as a child is upset when, together with his mother (Barbara Ronchi), he witnesses the attack on his father Alfonso (Pierfrancesco Favino) by a terrorist commando. From that moment on, fear and a sense of vulnerability dramatically mark the feelings of the whole family. But it is precisely in those difficult days that Valerio meets Christian (Francesco Gheghi), a little older than him. Lonely, rebellious and cheeky, he seems to come from nowhere. That meeting, in a summer full of discoveries, will change their lives forever.
Photography by Michele D’Attanasio, set design by Paki Meduri, costumes by Olivia Bellini, editing by Giogiò Franchini, the operator is Guido Michelotti, casting by Sara Casani, original music by Mattia Carratello and Stefano Ratchev.
