Attese - a manifesto

by Francesca Alfano Miglietti and Moreno Zani

Steve Jobs once appealed:” Do not sell products, but enrich lives”, and “Today the battle is not between liberals and conservatives, but between builders and dismantlers”…

Attese# is a project that brings together works of art as experimental processes. Empty and vacant spaces returned to the community, research and experimental art facilities in the themes of exodus and abandonment.
Art, therefore, as a means to halt the need of belonging, a therapeutic action, since being anything else is just the general relationship with the territory, the community and the social sphere.

Over the last decade, the more interesting artists were those who were able to express the fragmented social body and the frenetic perception of precarious times. Now, art is beginning to merge with the therapeutic practice of the re-activation of sensitivity.

Sensitivity is the ability to understand what can be expressed in words, and is a crucial element in that it ensures human existence as human. Empathy is related to sensitivity, and without empathy, solidarity disappears and social relations become brutal, aggressive and barbaric.

Attese# is a project in which the temporal dimension is called into question.
A search for reciprocal availability between the hard and soft elements of the world, the attempt to solicit excitement and to link hot and cold entities, sensual and neutral.

Hence, a nomadic and itinerate project, which treats art as a stream and not as a codified means of expression. It is like diamonds, impossible to separate the inherent beauty from its sharp edges.
