"Il Signore delle Formiche", back on tv on March 17
Gianni Amelio’s film returns to television on Tuesday, March 17th at 11.05 pm on Rai 5.
Rome, late 1960s. Poet Aldo Braibanti is tried and convicted of plagiarism, a baseless charge used to target his difference, while the young man close to him is committed to a psychiatric institution. Based on a true story, the film follows a trial that became a symbol of censorship and intolerance, seen through the eyes of a journalist determined to uncover the truth at any cost.
A Kavac Film, IBC Movie, and Tenderstories production with Rai Cinema, selected for competition at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. The cast includes Luigi Lo Cascio, Elio Germano, Sara Serraiocco, Leonardo Maltese, and Anna Caterina Antonacci.
The film is also available to stream on Now.
