"Diciannove" by Giovanni Tortorici among the Italian films competing at the 2026 David di Donatello awards

Giovanni Tortorici’s debut feature is among the Italian films nominated at the 2026 David di Donatello Awards in the Best Casting category.

Diciannove is an autobiographical coming-of-age film following Leonardo, 19, through an academic year suspended between solitude, fleeting social encounters, and generational friction. Palermo, London, Siena, Turin: each stop a different direction, each choice quickly second-guessed. A year spent figuring things out, or maybe just wasting time in the right way.

Produced by Luca Guadagnino, the film stars Manfredi Marini, Vittoria Planeta, Dana Giuliano, Zaccaria Delmas, Luca Lazzareschi, and Sergio Benvenuto. A Frenesy Film Company production, co-produced with Pinball London and in association with Memo Films, AG Studios, and Tenderstories.

Diciannove is now streaming on MUBI.
