April by Dea Kulumbegashvili nominated for the 9th European University Film Award 2024
The second feature film by Georgian director Dea Kulumbegashvili, April, continues to receive prestigious international recognition. After its success at the Venice Film Festival, the film has been selected as one of the nominees for the 9th European University Film Award (EUFA) 2024.
Established in 2016 and promoted by the European Film Academy and Filmfest Hamburg, EUFA aims to engage young audiences, especially university students, in the analysis and discussion of European cinema. April is one of five films selected, alongside feature films and documentaries from across Europe, that will be evaluated by 23 universities in their respective countries.
The winner of the prestigious award will be determined by the votes of university students, who will have the opportunity to express their opinions on the films in competition. The EUFA aims to promote and celebrate European cinema, giving voice and visibility to the tastes and views of the new generation of film-lovers.
