A COMMON STORY BY ANNA FOGLIETTA WILL BE PRESENTED IN COMPETITION IN THE ORIZZONTI SECTION AT THE 83RD VENICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
A Common Story, Anna Foglietta’s directorial debut with Alba Rohrwacher and Guido Caprino, will be presented in Competition in the Orizzonti Section at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival and will be released in theaters on September 24 by BIM DISTRIBUZIONE.
Written by Anna Foglietta herself together with Tania Pedroni and Matteo Ferri, the film is an intimate and profoundly human story that moves through the emotional passages that redefine family bonds and the balance of a couple’s life.
The cast also includes Caterina Casini, Elio De Capitani and Duccio Camerini.
A Common Story is an HT Film, Indigo Film, Tenderstories and Blu One Lab production with Rai Cinema, with the participation of HBO Max, produced by Viola Prestieri, Valeria Golino, Nicola Giuliano, Moreno Zani and Malcom Pagani, associate producers Anna Foglietta and Paolo Sopranzetti.

The film was made with the contribution of the Fund for the Development of Investments in Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture and with the contribution of the Lazio Region – Public Notice: Lazio Cinema Lab.
Erika and Mauro live in the provinces, within a simple everyday life made of reassuring habits and small gestures. When their daughter Irene leaves to study far away, the house empties out and the balance on which the couple has built their existence seems to crack. Erika, who has always inhabited the world through caring for others, suddenly finds herself without direction. Mauro, raised in the emotional rigor of an authoritarian father, tries in his own way to react by filling the void, but ends up confronting a fragility he has never confessed. In the suspended time that follows, distant wounds and forgotten desires resurface. It is precisely this intimate and profound crisis that will push them to truly look at each other and understand whether and how they can transform themselves and, consequently, their love.
