“Senza fine” a film by Elisa Fuksas on Ornella Vanoni goes to Venice
A Tenderstories, Wildside, a Fremantle Group company, and Indiana production.
A spa resort out of time, a 1940s hotel, a place that shifts the present who knows where.
Not Ornella Vanoni’s life, but the revelation of her exposed intimacy.
Her energy, her character, her music, her diva tantrums, which force the crew to stop several times. Elisa, the director, filming everything, sparing nothing, not even the discussions.
Then the encounters. Friends, musicians, Paolo Fresu’s trumpet resounding in the empty spaces of the big hotel where, in the midst of identical days punctuated by care and treatments, the story, the memory, but also the future take place while Ornella prepares to become a fantastic creature, destined for eternity.
Rome 28 July 2021 – The documentary SENZA FINE by Elisa Fuksas about and with Ornella Vanoni will be presented as a Special Event in the Official Selection of Giornate degli Autori (Venice 1-11 September 2021).
“A story – a protagonist – like this one also changes who tells it. In the difficulty and grace, and in the drift above all, I too have suffered the Vanoni effect, which is a mixture of courage and fragility, seriousness and irony. Now I see that we have exchanged places several times; somehow Ornella let me be her while I was telling her story. An irresistible contagion” declared Elisa Fuksas.
Produced by Tenderstories, Wildside, a Fremantle Group company, and Indiana Production, SENZA FINE is written by Elisa Fuksas and Monica Rametta.
“It is a project that makes us proud, in which we have believed a lot. We would like to thank Elisa, with whom an important collaboration was born, thanks to which it was possible to pay homage to a great artist who is part of the history of Italian music. It is an honour to participate in the Venice Film Festival 2021 as part of Giornate degli Autori, as we believe that Italian culture and the Italian film industry can be the engine of recovery for our country, to be valued also at an international level,” explain Moreno Zani and Malcom Pagani.
The film was shot at the Lucia Magnani Health Clinic at the Grand Hotel in Castrocaro Terme.
